"When the mission is impossible"
It is November 14, 1944. A group of American soldiers is given the dangerous assignment to storm the German town of Bergstein. The intention is to take Hill 400 from the Germans, who have placed artillery on the particularly high hill and use it to attack the Allies. The Americans are heavily outnumbered, so they have to fight to survive.

A reconstruction of Company D's battle to capture a strategically important hill near Bergstein in November. With William Baldwin and Michael Madsen as the generals arguing in their army tent over the right strategy and production values of another apple and an egg, it should come as no surprise that the movie isn't better than the screenplay. Tufts of bad actors pretend to shoot and/or fall through in an amateurish collection of clichés. Always fun (but not good): Eric Roberts, here as a Life magazine photographer who gets on the nerves of the soldiers. And the German accents are also amusing in a way.

From start to finish I thoroughly enjoyed this Asylum vehicle.
From Daniel Baldwin (oh no it was William...oh who cares) and Michael Madsen in a tent (probably shot in an afternoon in Hollywood) to Eric Roberts as a click-happy war photographer who walks through the same forest with a bunch of reenactors, snapping away with his camera. It was all fantastic, from start to finish.
I can't get enough of this kind of shameless exploitation.
5 stars, because entertainment is my number 1 priority when watching a movie and this movie had me rolling with laughter from start to finish.
