Cascade plot
Four friends embark on a trek that should be their final highlight before splitting up for college or another career. Alex, Jesse and Em are led to a restricted area of the national park by their smart, thrill-seeking friend Vince. They stumble upon the remains of a plane crash in the woods and discover the pilot's body next to a large shipment of cocaine. The four are soon targeted by a gang of thugs who are also after the same plane and the drugs. They all become embroiled in a violent hostage situation that they may not survive.

A particularly dull thriller with only a collection of capable cast members as a bonus to elevate the proceedings. This doesn't have much effect, as director Egidio Coccimiglio's direction results in a rather uninteresting collection of tired genre clichés. Visually stunning shots and cleverly constructed suspense arcs are absent from Cascade, and the ending is rather tame. The content doesn't hold up at all, but when the technical side of the story also fails to deliver, there's precious little left.
