The American content platform Tubi decided to produce a new film within this series and that gave hope for better quality, because you then have access to a larger budget. The fact that director Éric Tessier then came forward to do the job also promised something, since for a change his career does not consist exclusively of pulp. Although the production looks reasonably neat, it still leaves a cheap and soulless mark. The cinematography makes a bare impression and the tension build-up is sloppy, but fortunately the effects are better this time. Positive is the solid acting, with a lot of cast members who manage to get the most out of their limited material. It provides some authenticity and the finale brings some more effective thriller elements for a change, but the negatives ultimately dominate. Better than most of its peers, but cannot compete with the much more charming opening films.
