I rate a film like this differently than a film for adults. I don't compare a special fries with a six-course dinner in a star restaurant. Both have their qualities.
I now know Miss Roos from front to back, my two-year-old daughter loves it and today she had her first cinema experience. She was fascinated for an hour, so it is a successful film for the target group.
And for me? Oh, mind at zero and go along with the story. I think the animations are a plus and I'm a fan of some Gijs characters. Walker Gijs in particular is well hit, I was genuinely laughing during the film.
I found the downside that they are going to look for the colors of the rainbow, while there are really seven (indigo was skipped). In addition, some songs were ripped directly from the TV series with images and all. That is very easy and not necessary, because the story is nice enough and could have done without those repetitions.
I had a nice afternoon with my daughter, so big enough!
