Five girls who are best friends are all haunted by their past mistakes of a fateful April Fool's prank gone bad. After two years, they meet again for a week-long summer getaway in the woods to reconnect and reconcile. Pillow Party Massacre has a funny title, but is exceptionally boring and without any passion filmed by director Calvin Morie McCarthy. The impression that it was all made solely for profit is prevalent from the first minutes. The only positive is that the actresses make some kind of attempt to portray their characters meritoriously, but the bare script gives them far too little. Visually, the film looks like a funeral and the murders are poorly put together, with the icing on the cake being a number of pitiful computer effects to further shape the gore. Perhaps fake blood was too expensive in retrospect, but I suspect the makers simply did not feel like buying it. Watched it with great difficulty, the final revelation really makes no sense at all.
