Regina plot
This documentary tells the story of Regina Jonas, born in 1902. The daughter of an Orthodox Jewish peddler, Regina grew up in a Berlin slum and was ordained a rabbi in 1935. At the age of 37 she met the love of her life, Rabbi Josef Norden. Both were deported to Theresienstadt concentration camp. Only their love letters survived the Holocaust. The only surviving photograph of Regina serves as the thread running through the film, showing a determined young woman whose sermons and unparalleled devotion helped persecuted German Jews during the Nazi era.
