Dying to Live plot

The young, passionate general practitioner Mirjam specializes in the medicine that is most permeated by fear and taboo: end-of-life care. She helps patients to live as well as possible in the event of imminent death. And fulfills their last wish: a beautiful and dignified farewell. Even if that is only possible with palliative sedation or euthanasia. Unexpectedly, Mirjam herself becomes a palliative patient. She wants to complete one more mission: to break the taboo around dying and improve end-of-life care, from her unique perspective as a doctor and patient.

When GP Mirjam Willemsen was told that she had lung cancer, she discovered that as a patient she had needs that, as a GP, she did not sufficiently address to her own patients. Knowing that at every follow-up check-up she could be told she only had a few months to live, she devoted herself entirely to providing the right care for her own cancer patients, giving lectures to colleagues, among others about discussing death, and tries to cherish every moment with her husband and her children. An interesting one on paper in which we see the planned death of one of Mirjam's patients and open conversations about death. But Willemsen seems to tense up a bit in the eye of the camera, which makes her seem quite aloof. And they really should have had a voice actor record the commentary.
