"Revenge is a mother."
Twenty years after her daughter's disappearance, recovering alcoholic Darlene Hagen prepares for her family's Christmas party with her best friend Gretchen. Late on Christmas Eve, Darlene's estranged ex-brother-in-law Jack arrives unannounced with nostalgic gifts and a big secret. Soon, Darlene is caught between reason and relentless instinct. Caught together by a dangerous storm, a battle of wits escalates into a violent game of revenge.

Traceless combined with Tape/house invasion with Anna Gunn of course best known as Skyler's wife Heisenberg. We also see Linus Roache best known from Vikings. The actors do a good job but it doesn't get exciting and goes in a direction that you see coming. Direction is weak missed the hand of an experienced director. Just a pass due to good acting by the actors

Anna Gunn and Linus Roache do an excellent job in this semi-successful psychological thriller, to which director Alison Star Locke contributes too little, especially in the middle part of the film. The cinematic strength is that it starts off so innocently that I personally didn't see the twist coming, but once that's over, little is done with it. The Apology quickly gets bogged down in a fairly clichéd cat-and-mouse game that hopes to deliver a real punch towards the finale. The punch in question just never lands, as Locke's screenplay leaves the viewer rather unsatisfied. Moreover, it doesn't really deliver in terms of tension, even with a quite creditable, chilly atmosphere lurking. As a result, the final scenes of violence are not very interesting to follow and as a viewer you ultimately have to make do with two members who act well. Locke would have done better to push the boundaries a little more, because The Apology is now doomed to stick to precise thriller mediocrity.
