Hartwig Seeler receives a strange assignment from his ex-colleague Tascha. The policewoman fears the release of the criminal Gerald Metzner, of whom she has a traumatic memory. She spent 36 agonizing hours in his grip as a hostage. To be safe from him, Tascha wants to go into hiding with Seeler's help. She wants to start a new life in Malta.
