Would have been a good film in the eighties, probably with a big cinema release, but nowadays we raise the bar a bit higher. Sort of a mix of Speed and Blown Away, only qualitatively a level less than those two. I did have fun with it, a film does not necessarily have to be good to maintain, but it is a no brainer, with just a bit too many explosions. Well, you don't see who the bad guy is coming, that's a positive thing. Too bad the actors are so mediocre. Mel plays the machine, protagonist Dillon has not even half the talent of his brother Matt, his always exaggerated mimicry remains a source of annoyance. It's easy to forget about Hot Seat, not much chance that anyone will put this one in their all time favourites, but this is the kind of shit that Mel Gibson has patented these days and compared to his other films in recent years I was still a bit disappointed along.

A long time ago I saw a bad Steven Seagal movie where Seagal played a scientist or a professor. He was given glasses and a book pressed into his hands, but you could see from everything that the man had never opened a book in his life.

This same feeling was also strongly reflected in this film. Kevin Dillon playing a hacker. Nothing about that man shows that he knows how to turn on a computer, let alone how to operate it. We also have Mel Gibson playing chess and Shannen Doherty as FBI agent.

In addition, after about 10 minutes I realized how the film was going to end and to make matters worse, this turned out to be correct. In brief. A clichéd film that is overflowing with miscasts and is therefore unintentionally funny.

I mainly watched it because I kept wondering if it could get any worse and also felt sorry for the actors.

This was really bad but that's why it was fun.

For pulp lovers. Now on Netflix.

Ex-hacker Orlando [Kevin Dillon] works at an IT help desk where he gets the fright of his life when an anonymous thug informs him that Orlando's chair is rigged with explosives and that he must perform some hacking duties to stay alive. Mel Gibson and Eddie Steeples show up as explosives experts investigating a bombing earlier in the day. Kate Katzman is just as bad as Dillon as the type of blonde we'd probably said goodbye to by now in this absurd waste of time and brain cells.
