For some time now, the police in Paris have been on the trail of a mysterious burglar who is behind a series of daring robberies. The master criminal is none other than the sophisticated Count De Trégune. With the help of his trusted accomplice Germain, the count always manages to elude the police. While De Trégune targets jewelry and other valuables, the police try to trap him.

I'm a fan of the somewhat older film, but this is certainly not a topper. It is given away quite early on how the fork is in the stem and the sequel is then quite predictable. Is therefore a film without too much tension and a considerable lack of humour, a picaresque film without venom. Leading actor Berry also plays quite annoyingly, lays it very thick on top. A plus is that it looks formidable for a film from the thirties.
