The Girl in the Yellow Jumper plot

There's a serial killer on the run who just keeps on killing. An off-duty police officer must bring a witness, an old man who lives in a remote area of Uganda, back to the city. On the way, he gives a lift to an injured man. He tells about the events that caused him to be injured. While watching TV, he was drugged and held hostage. However, this turns out to be only part of the story.

Maybe not a high-quality film. Considering the fact that it was stated a few times that it had happened, even taken satirically and then you have my attention. All pretty well done for a Ugandan film. The story mainly takes place in a car and then 2 crime scenes of what the hitchhiker has experienced. Also true story reportedly...

You naturally feel in your little toe that something is not right with the three occupants. It is up to the viewer to unravel what is correct or less correct. The witness is sometimes forgotten, not difficult even if he says nothing, but he does have a function of course. And the hitchhiker's story is quite entertaining and paced.

Entertaining, perhaps a bit simple, but well filmed and well edited. Certainly not bad, but you shouldn't have high expectations either.

Director Loukman Ali is doing his best to bring this Ugandan crime thriller to the mainstream audience. That didn't work out well, even on IMDb the film doesn't even get 1,000 votes. Yet the attempt is nevertheless appreciated, because the multiple animation breaks and the playing with time benefits Ali's directorial project. Unfortunately, it was a foolish choice to have the actors speak English, which seriously detracts from the credibility of the acting. Moreover, the story itself is rushed, incomplete and sometimes downright foolish. Promoted as true, but the corny, exaggerated tone that Ali brings to The Girl in the Yellow Jumper doesn't exactly accommodate such a concept. Peculiar characters that the film relies on, such as the "Yellow Girl", come across as wooden and uninspired. Nevertheless, the film is always entertaining and would normally have been a close enough pass, but the finale feels rather arbitrary. Suddenly a very different and quite grand concept is acquired by the film, but barely substantiated or utilized by Ali. Too bad, because there is no shortage of enthusiasm here.
