Lucie Aubrac plot
Raymond Samuel and his wife Lucie are active in the resistance against the Nazis. When Raymond is arrested, pregnant Lucie tries to save her husband from Nazi executioner Klaus Barbie at the risk of her own life.

Strong resistance drama based on real events about a woman who wants to free her captured husband, an important resistance figure, from the hands of the Nazis. Another strongly directed film by Claude Berri, real name Langmann, who himself had Jewish parents. Just mention this because Raymond, played here by Auteuil, was also Jewish himself and contributed to a fund for survivors during his existence. It is this commitment that inspired him. Berri chooses here to honor his wife in his title, who acts from deep loyalty to man and country. A romantic accent is certainly not lacking. But it is once again Berri's ability to deliver beautifully finished scenes that stands out. Ex Bondgirl Bouquet's radiant beauty is also a plus.
