Természetes Fény plot
The Soviet Union during the Second World War. Hungarian farmer István Semetka is part of a special unit looking for partisans. One day, the group comes under fire, killing the commander. Second in rank, Semetka takes command and must try to overcome his fears. However, he finds himself in a chaos over which he has no control.

A film in the spirit of Idi i Smotri (Film, 1985) about the cat and mouse game between hunting soldiers and elusive partisans, with something in between villages that are their playthings. Far from as strong as Klimov's classic, but it does convey that claustrophobic, gray atmosphere of mistrust and paranoia.
Lots of long shots, quite repetitive shots too, of a pensive corporal Semetka who would prefer to be at home with his family. He undergoes and observes. He witnesses the misbehavior of his fellow companions and thus tries to minimize his responsibility. The question is whether he can soothe his conscience with this.
A fairly slow film. Not much happens either. A film that does not entirely live up to expectations. The images are good, but the film lacks some verve. Just not convincing enough.
