"Every second counts."
As a new day begins in the small American town of Siren, the residents begin their day as casually as the last. However, Mother Nature has other plans for them. Residents have just 13 minutes to shelter before the largest tornado ever hits the town. The inhabitants struggle to protect their loved ones and fight for their lives. In the aftermath of the tornado, four families must overcome their differences and find strength in each other to survive.

Disaster film that uses the impact of a devastating tornado as a backdrop to address a number of pressing issues in the conservative part of American society, such as undocumented migrants, abortion and homosexuality. The result is a film that makes quite an impression. The images of the tornado itself are frightening.
Most notable scene when a pregnant teenager asks her mother to close the door, when the father of her unborn child leaves to get water.

Three times a tornado rages over some landscapes and houses, but unfortunately those images are spread over a relatively broad running time of 108 minutes. A truly incomprehensible length for such a clichéd and predictable disaster film. Director Lindsay Gossling makes a strange choice by letting the drama dominate within a film that really has a tornado on its marketing. The acting is not bad and the destroyed sets look detailed, but otherwise 13 Minutes is mainly uninteresting and disappears from your retina. In any case, the title refers to the number of minutes that are worth it, which makes the biggest problem of this project clear and that is the remaining 95 minutes.
