Not too bad, although after an acceptable first hour the film slowly but surely goes down towards the final. Such films simply work better as long as you don't see the monster too prominently in the picture. Empty-headed characters, a stupid plot, but the tension is skillfully built up and visually the film looks neat. At least, until the ugly CGI effects make their appearance and the film descends to a level where many unfortunate genre contemporaries already find themselves.

Nice entertainment.

Shark movies these days are always of mediocre quality, so it's always refreshing when one finally gets to the right level. Shark horror movies are always kind of doomed to fail, but this movie is really nice at what it does. And important: it stays nice and small.

Two jet skis, 5 teenagers, a camera with nice HD images and some sharks. A film like this does not need more ingredients and is therefore not used. The good thing is that it all remains wonderfully simple and never makes the crossing to use extra background or drama. It helps the pace of the film enormously, so that it never really starts to get boring.

A pity is the total lack of tension and this film can't really use the peace or threat that such a situation entails. The sharks are rather poorly animated and the injuries aren't scary or intense enough, which means that some of the power of the film is lost. On the other hand, there is a high tempo and a camera that captures everything neatly and cleverly.

Despite the little uplifting acting, the film always offers something to move forward with. The cinematography is also way above the level. The warm weather, tropical water and approaching situation never bore and make for a pleasant viewing experience. Movie flew by and I didn't even have time to get a little bored. Simple genre films like this one just work properly, only the really beautiful work still has to come out. Enough.

Better than expected ! The umpteenth shark film will tell you with annoying characters and predictability everywhere, yet the film knows how to captivate. The reasons are sufficiently present gory scenes, usually decent CGI images, good camera work and beautiful clear images. 6/10
