Rouge plot
Nurse Nour is hired at a chemical company where her father also works. While the factory is undergoing a health check, a journalist studies the file on the toxic waste. Together with Nour, she discovers the secrets that the factory bosses want to keep hidden.

The subject sounds familiar with the PFOS scandal in Belgium with contaminated soil around the 3M company in Zwijndrecht. Rouge was made before that scandal broke, but is nevertheless based on a true event in Gardanne, not far from Marseille. But the film is not just finger pointing from an ecological point of view. Rouge broadens it and looks at it from the factory worker's point of view. He remains silent due to a combination of confidence through false reports and fear of losing the job.
The film is carried by the young French actress Zita Hanrot who won the César in 2015 for the film Fatima. It is striking that not much can be found about the film (yet). Zita Hanrot's wikipedia doesn't even list the film in her honors list. She's acting quite well and I'm really looking forward to seeing more films from the actress. Rouge remains captivating, thanks to Hanrot's acting and the story that shows multiple sides of the problem. Without just talking about the ecological impact.
