Songs of Repression plot

At the foot of the Andes Mountains in Chile is an idyllic German colony called Villa Baviera. However, the beauty of this place - formerly known as Colonia Dignidad - hides a grim past. Systematic child abuse, medical experiments, torture chambers and mass graves are part of history. Today, 120 residents still live in the colony, which still has a disturbing mix of religious fanaticism and extreme conservatism. This documentary explores the strategies residents use to deal with their traumas.
