Stephen is a man with poor social skills. He works as a telephone operator and feels lonely. On the advice of a colleague, he goes looking for a prostitute at night. Stephen meets Christa, a young prostitute who offers to help him in exchange for financial compensation. But then something unexpected happens: Christa falls in love with Stephen.
