Vader in de Tuin plot

Grandpa Koos (89) is a widower and still lives independently, but he is becoming lonely and his health is deteriorating. He doesn't want to spend his last years in a nursing home. Daughter-in-law Anita suggests that he may come and live with them in the garden. One day, a brand new, ready-made informal care home is towed in the garden.

Koos Korevaar, 88, lost his wife 21 years ago, a few months after his retirement, and now lives in a spacious apartment on the third floor. But with deteriorating health, son Koos and daughter-in-law Anita decide to demolish the former shop in their backyard to make room for a home for Koos, so they can keep an eye on things. With direct, sometimes prickly questions, Bromet manages to expose the conflicting feelings of both Koos and his family. A nice tribute to Koos, who passed away in January 2020 at the age of 90. This offers food for thought for all elderly people and their (future) carers.
