Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice plot
"She broke all the rules."
In this documentary, singer Linda Ronstadt takes the viewer through her early years singing Mexican songs with her family, her folk period with the Stone Poneys, and her rock queen years in the 1970s and 1980s. Ronstadt was a pioneer for women in the male-dominated music world as well as an early advocate for human rights. She also had a much-discussed romance with Governor Jerry Brown. In the end Ronstadt lost her voice to the effects of Parkinson's disease. The documentary features plenty of performance footage and commentary from colleagues such as Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne.
