"What if reality became your nightmare?"
The Cold War. Five prisoners of war are released, but in exchange must participate in a special experiment. The experiment involves keeping them awake for a month. The prisoners, who have started in good spirits, soon run into problems.

A rather unmemorable psychological thriller film based on a well-known internet story. It was only a matter of time before this source material would take off, and director John Farrelly handles it fairly well. The acting is a shame, as the cast is quite demanding. The final monologue, in particular, is overflowing with theatrics and unconvincing vocals. The filmmakers occasionally create some strong moments and experiment with makeup effects, and the surroundings are atmospheric, but that doesn't quite redeem the uninteresting narrative. All in all, you'll probably quickly forget The Sleep Experiment.
