This movie deserves a point or two for the poster alone. Too bad the execution is so completely crap... the stars and stripes knife, and some of the wordplay are nice, but not nearly good enough to make it bearable. Let alone cult.

Funny mix of horror elements (the inspiration is already obvious at the opening) and not too subtle social criticism. For a successful satire you are at the wrong address with President Evil, because director Richard Lowry puts the humor on rather thick and uses little nuance to work out his message. Still, he succeeds in conjuring up quite funny scenes on the screen that regularly hit the right (dry) tone. When it comes to horror, however, the film falls a bit quiet. The final phase is funny, but the murders are rather cheaply worked out and there is certainly no atmosphere. The central joke of the film also wears off after 30 minutes and then the event starts to get a bit more tiring, but it is a nice and unexpected change from the rest.
