Sylvana, Demon of Diva plot

She once presented music programs. Now the Amsterdam Sylvana Simons is the figurehead of the political party BIJ1. As a woman of Surinamese descent, she knows what it feels like to be treated as a minority. In her fight for a world in which everyone has equal opportunities and rights, she does not mince her words. It leads to extreme reactions. The documentary follows Sylvana Simons in the last three months before the municipal elections. As well as a report of an election campaign, this is the story of a passionate woman who stepped out of showbiz and sacrificed her private life and peace of mind for a more equal world.
