Örökség plot
Hungary on the eve of World War II. Sylvia (Lili Monori) is married to Akos, but they cannot have children. In order to inherit the family wealth, she needs an heir. She persuades the Jewish Irene (Isabelle Huppert) to become pregnant with Akos and give the child up for adoption. When the time comes, however, Sylvia and Akos' marriage derails and Akos begins a relationship with Irene. Sylvia wants revenge.
