"Love. Death. Revenge."
Kukai (Shôta Sometani) is a Japanese Buddhist monk. He is sent to the Tang Dynasty in China to learn about Chinese culture and civilization. He affirms his determination to learn all about Vajrayana. By chance, he comes into contact with the poet Rakuten Haku (Xuan Huang) and they become friends. During that time, powerful men continuously die in the capital. Kukai investigates these cases together with Rakuten Haku. They are faced with a great mystery built up throughout history.
