Amsterdam, Sporen van Suiker plot
Former newscaster Noraly Beyer and singer Typhoon (Glenn de Randamie) unravel their family histories marked by slavery, while artist and cultural activist Patricia Kaersenhout encourages reflection about this slavery past through her work. Amsterdam appears to be a hub in the Dutch slavery past, where many traces can be found. The capital played a dominant role in the administration of the colonies and in the trade of enslaved Africans through the WIC (West India Company).
