20-year-old Lucy Cunningham is a shy Ohio girl with a passion for film and a dislike for the real world. Her only friend is her mother Claire who shields her daughter from the evil world. When Lucy discovers Federico Fellini's bizarre films, a new world opens up for her. She embarks on a strange journey through Italy to find the director, meeting characters from Fellini's films, as well as the nightmares that define him.
