Am Abend aller Tage plot

Philipp Keyser is commissioned by a group of gray businessmen to locate a painting by the German expressionist Ludwig Glaeden. The painting in question has long been thought to be lost. As a passionate admirer of Glaeden's work, Philipp dedicates himself to his task. However, the presumed owner, the 84-year-old collector Magnus Dutt, does not want to reveal whether he ever owned the artwork. Philipp then takes a detour and approaches Dutt's grandniece Alma.
