With high expectations and with 'as it is in heaven' in mind I went to see this film. However, I am very disappointed. Is this supposed to be an 'independent sequel'? Without having seen the first part you don't understand anything about the film; it starts at the beginning with an endlessly drawn out birth story. Throughout the film all kinds of half-broken storylines run (Why does she get a huge slap from someone when she walks into the snow in labor? The same character returns later when she walks in the pouring rain with her baby, but why? God knows.) I got a headache from the screaming and shouting; what an overacting by everyone, if you are to believe the film, Sweden consists exclusively of psychopaths and drunks. The chairman of the parish council, for example, only appears hysterically on screen. The pastor is either very reasonable and amiable, or completely drunk. Almost everyone (including the main characters) goes from 0 to 180 in the blink of an eye, emotions know no degrees.

The main storyline, of course another concert has to be organised, is extremely unbelievable, someone who can stage and conduct Handel's Messiah without being able to read music? Another major event (I won't reveal what) is unbelievable and far-fetched.

In short, very disappointing film. Maybe go see it if you have seen the first part, otherwise you better stay home.

Unbelievably bad sequel to the beautiful As It Is In Heaven from 2004. That film sometimes bordered on melodrama, but here melodrama is the starting point and then a lot more is added. Characters and dialogues are constantly on the verge of hysteria and no scene passes without unmotivated screaming. This is already irritating after a few minutes, after which you as a viewer still have a good two hours ahead of you. From the excruciating opening scene, revolving around the birth of a child, to the ridiculous finale, with a worthless performance of Handel's Hallelujah in a church, you have to persevere. The only thing missing towards the end is Jesus coming down from the cross to join the choir. Oh, wait...
