Michael Jordon (Gene Wilder) is in New York on business. When a strange lady jumps into his taxi, he is pleasantly surprised, he likes her and makes frantic efforts to score a date with her, he even posts a package for her. Unfortunately she is not interested and gets out in front of her hotel. Moments later, Michael is kidnapped and drugged, the kidnappers want to know everything about his relationship with the woman in the taxi and the package he has posted. Before he knows it, Michael is up to his ears in a major espionage case and is also accused of the murder of the woman from the taxi. The only one who believes him is Kate Hellman (Gilda Radner) but she also has her secret agenda, together they track the secret package that seems to be the cause of everything.
