The film is set in the suburbs of Medellin, Colombia. Andrea is a ten-year-old girl who runs away from home because she is beaten by her mother. She manages to join the slightly older Monica, who tries to survive by selling roses and other scams. Together they try to survive the harsh realities of drug addiction, extortion and abuse.
