De Broeders Van Rossem plot

Maarten and Vincent van Rossem visit various cities in the Netherlands, with special attention to a specific theme such as energy, nature or housing. During their visit they explore the history of the place, making connections between the past and current events. The brothers visit all kinds of places, such as Emmen, Texel, The Hague, Nijmegen. They also go to Wageningen, the place where they grew up and where there are many memories. The historian and architectural historian also enter into discussions with residents and stakeholders. In the first episode they go to Emmen, the discovery of peat, oil and gas have strongly determined the history of Emmen and the surrounding area. In their own way, Maarten and Vincent van Rossem delve into the rise and fall of the region based on fossil fuels.
