Sarma Melngailis was once considered the queen of veganism. As the famed restaurateur behind New York's Pure Food & Wine, her glittering vegan hotspot attracted patrons like Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson. In 2011, Melngailis meets a man named Shane Fox on Twitter - but things move very quickly about pennies. Melngailis guzzles up her restaurant's money and begins funneling money to Fox after he makes her believe he can make her dreams come true. One of these ambitions is to expand her food empire and immortalize her beloved pit bull. After stealing and fleeing nearly $2 million, the now-married couple meets their demise after ordering a Domino's pizza.
