For four years, directors Djoeke Veeninga and Marlou van den Berge followed the writer David Van Reybrouck in the development of his new book. The Belgian writer goes in search of the last witnesses to the decolonization of Indonesia. In addition to Indonesians and Dutch, he finds underexposed fellow players.
