Galactica 1980 plot
After some 30 years on the run from the Cylons, the Galactica and her fleet of starships finally find Earth. However, the disappointment is great when they discover that the Earth of 1980, contrary to what was believed, is technologically far behind and very divided and warlike. It is known that the Cylons are after them and that the Earth is absolutely incapable of defending itself against an attack from the Cylons, but also that the fleet cannot protect them. Adama decides, on the advice of the child prodigy Doctor Zee, to send groups of officers to Earth with the assignment to contact leading Earth scientists, so that the planet can be accelerated to a higher technological level.
