Harjunpää plot

Helsinki in Summer is viewed differently through the eyes of homicide detectives Timo Harjunpää and Onerva Nykänen. Together they investigate a series of murders that plague Helsinki. This series paints a picture of the city where people are not safe on the streets or even in their own homes. For the people who live there, in the midst of the harsh crimes, it is impossible not to constantly worry about your own family and fear losing contact with your children.

Per twee afleveringen één onderwerp, of misdaad, als je het zo wilt noemen. In vergelijk met de gebruikelijke Scandinavische misdaadseries valt deze toch wel een beetje tegen, wat vooral komt door het trage tempo en de tamelijk gedeprimeerde politie. Het drama-aspect heeft de overhand op het misdaad-aspect; met name de achtergronden en dieperliggende beweegredenen van de daders worden belicht. Maar helaas, zelfs dat komt niet echt uit de verf.

One subject per two episodes, or crime, if you want to call it that. Compared to the usual Scandinavian crime series, this one is a bit disappointing, mainly due to the slow pace and the rather depressed police. The drama aspect prevails over the crime aspect; in particular, the backgrounds and deeper motives of the perpetrators are highlighted. But unfortunately, even that doesn't really come out.

Finland heeft niet de goede series, zoals andere Scandinavische landen. Dit is weer zeer zwak, ook acteren is niet bijzonder goed. En ik heb hier ook weer last van de afschuwelijke taal...

Finland doesn't have the good series like other Scandinavian countries. This is again very weak, also acting is not particularly good. And I also suffer from the horrible language here...
