Joker proved to be a critical and commercial success as fans flocked to see a fresh incarnation of the most famous villain in comic book history.
Directed by Todd Phillips and starring Joaquin Phoenix, the latter won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance as Arthur Fleck, whose fight against poverty and the elite of Gotham City saw him develop into the Joker.

What will Joker 2 be called?
The sequel is titled Joker: Folie à Deux.
The title refers to “a delusion or mental illness shared by two people in close association”.
Phoenix will return in the title role.
Lady Gaga will play Joker's love interest, Harley Quinn. In March of 2023, set photos were released as fans got their first view of the popstar in the movie.
In the comic books, Quinn is a psychologist who is eventually manipulated by Joker.
Quinn has already been played to huge success and acclaim by Margot Robbie in the DC extended universe, with the character having most recently appeared in The Suicide Squad.
