Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard has distanced herself from rumours linking her with a potential role in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot.
There have been two critical failures over the past 20 years of filmmakers attempting to create Fantastic Four into a studio juggernaut.
The first came in 2005 and starred Ioan Gruffudd as Reed Richards / Mr Fantastic, Jessica Alba as Sue Storm / Invisible Woman, Chris Evans as Johnny Storm / Human Torch and Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm / Thing.
Another reboot came a decade later and starred Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell in the aforementioned roles.
Following Disney's purchase of 20th Century Fox, Marvel now has the rights to Fantastic Four and so the group will be introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The casting rumour mill has recently gone into overdrive, but one star who probably won't appear is Howard, as she recently said at a signing session:
"Oh my God!" she exclaimed while signing an Invisible Woman Funko Pop.
"I don't think it's happening. I mean, no one has called me or anything. I swear to God, I swear to God.
"Total rumours, total rumours,"
Who will be cast in Fantastic Four?
Reed Richards recently made an appearance in the MCU in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
In one of the parallel universes in the film, Richards was portrayed by John Krasinski and that naturally catalysed speculation that he is in line to reprise the role in a standalone Fantastic Four production.
That subsequently led to fans campaigning for his wife and frequent collaborator Emily Blunt to be cast as Sue Storm.
But, it seems Blunt won't be donning any superhero costumes anytime soon.
"I don't know if superhero movies are for me. They're not up my alley. I don't like them. I really don't," she told The Howard Stern Show in May 2021.
