Turning plot

In November 2006 the performance 'Turning' will be presented in Rome, London, Paris, Madrid and Braga. While Antony Hegarty (singer of Antony and the Johnsons) plays, director Charles Atlas projects video images across the stage. Thirteen women pose on the same stage. Like Antony, these women are not easy to define personalities. Whether they are transgender, androgynous, covered in make-up or completely naked. They come from environments where the fight to truly be yourself is an almost revolutionary act. The success of the performance was the main reason for making 'Turning' a documentary, in which there is even more room for the background stories.
