Nunnan plot
Documentary about Marta, a young woman who entered the Carmelite nuns, the strictest of all monastic orders, at the age of 19. Marta comes from a Catholic family with nine children. She is never allowed to leave Glumslöv Monastery in southern Sweden and only meet her relatives seven times a year, in a special visitors' room separated from them by bars. The documentary follows Marta and her family for ten years. Normally, filming is not allowed in the monastery, but exceptionally Maud Nycander has been allowed to interview Marta twice, just before her entrance and after her five-year novitiate. She also talked to Marta's mother, her sister Helena, her oldest and youngest brothers Samuel and Emanuel.
