The Lady in Question plot
"The jury finds her innocent... well not too innocent!"
Andre Morestan is the apparently contented paterfamilias of a bourgeois Parisian family. After being summoned as a juror, he initially believes the suspected murderer Natalie Roguin is guilty, but he eventually takes pity on the homeless young woman and invites her to move in with his family after her acquittal. Things get pretty risky when Morestan's young and impressionable son Pierre falls in love with the enigmatic Natalie and starts committing petty crimes to finance their romance.

The story is quite serious and that's why I didn't expect the humor to be so prominent, but it works wonderfully well and the humor is hilarious at times.
Comically, Brian Aherne steals the show as a naive father who has to wriggle himself in many ways to hide Natalie's identity from his family , but he is already prominent in court too .
But the serious moments are also well timed .
