Balota plot

During the 2007 election, a former sexy star and a land-grabbing magnate find themselves in a tight race for mayor. Emmy, a strict but popular small-town teacher, is appointed election inspector for her local constituency. When violence breaks out, she runs into the woods with a ballot box containing the latest copy of the election results. Armed only with her ingenuity, courage, and wit, she attempts to outsmart those intent on throwing the election off course. Her loved ones and community are caught in the crossfire as she pays an increasingly high price for defending the democratic process.
