Bad Boa's plot
Ramon, a dedicated boa who loves to make his Rotterdam neighborhood safer, is paired with Jack, a reckless ex-detective who is temporarily assigned to the boa's after an incident. When these opposites have to work together, they discover over time that they have more in common than expected: the loss of a loved one through murder. Ramon and Jack start a search for the perpetrator, during which they reveal unexpected secrets and come ever closer to the truth.

The poster looks similar to Bad Boy's and the trailer looked funny but unfortunately this movie didn't really entertain me.
There were some funny bits here and there, but otherwise it was mostly silly and unbelievable. I also didn't think the acting was great, or was that the intention?
The cameos and a bit of Rotterdam Amusement Park were a nice addition, but couldn't save the film.

Less annoying than expected. Now, that's not necessarily the best recommendation, but "Bad Boa's" (2025) does seem to take a slightly more serious approach than those Bon Bini films. A fairly subdued Jandino Asporaat plays a law enforcement officer with an inferiority complex in a genuine buddy cop movie. Werner Kolf may not be the best actor, but his yearning transcends his stiff performance as an ex-detective suddenly demoted to law enforcement officer. It fits perfectly with such a predictably macho role, contrasting with the gentle schlemiel it's actually about. "Bad Boa's" (2025) is also quite slickly shot with beautiful atmospheric shots of Rotterdam and its surroundings. They even cast a considerable number of A-list actors for brief supporting roles. Not particularly good. But I enjoyed "Bad Boa's" (2025) enough for a lazy Friday night.

Unfortunately, I couldn't laugh at it even once.
I really wanted to like it, but unfortunately it turned into a standard, watch-along movie with no surprises.
Admittedly, there are some impressively well-shot scenes visually. True craftsmanship, kudos for that. But that's largely where it ends. The story feels disjointed, the acting is inconsistent, the dialogue is often awkward, the action lacks conviction, and the humor... well, it was completely absent for me.
And yet, and I mean this sincerely, I admire the tenacity of someone like Jandino. It takes perseverance, vision, and courage to even get these kinds of productions off the ground in the Netherlands. That absolutely deserves respect. And I hope he keeps creating, keeps learning, and above all: keeps growing.
My advice? Give it a try on a rainy evening, but temper your expectations.
I remain critical, but with a warm heart for everyone who dares to create.
An "A" for effort, so to speak.
