"A bloody history behind the throne."
The year 1398. Shortly after the establishment of the Joseon Dynasty, Min-jae Kim is appointed commander-in-chief of the army by the king. That is against the sore leg of Bang-won Yi, the son of the king, who already feels disadvantaged because not he but his brother-in-law Jin had previously been designated crown prince and heir apparent. Jin, married to a daughter of the king, has little interest in politics, but all the more in booze and beautiful women. He is particularly interested in the beautiful courtesan of commander Min-jae Kim.
