The Man Inside plot
Sam Carter is a timid and cultured British office worker who spends much of his life fantasizing about stealing a precious diamond. In the end, he succeeds, but at the cost of a man's life. Sam flees to mainland Europe and lives like a king, throws around money and has several romances. Private investigator Milo March suspects Sam was involved in the diamond heist. But not only March suspects this, but also the femme-fatal Trudie Hall and the criminals Martin Lomer and Rizzio.

Despite the original theme and the strong start of the film, the film ultimately fails to captivate enough, in terms of pace the film flies from pillar to post, also literally from Portugal to Madrid, and from Madrid to Paris.
I increasingly got the feeling that much more could have been done with this, the characters remain superficial and sometimes it all goes much too fast.
It's nice to see Jack Palance in the role of the good guy for once and Anita Ekberg is of course a beauty but it's just not quite right, unfortunately.
